The Social Network Effect

Like, Share, Tag, Tweet, Retweet, Follow, Plus1, Pin etcetera etcetera, these words may sound alien to many of the elders but I'm damn sure that almost every student reading this is familiar with these words. How can we not be? These words are a part of our everyday routine. The day starts with a tweet on twitter and ends up with responding to messages and comments on Facebook. Pinning some pictures on pinterest and hanging out on Google+ is also essential. We can somehow manage without food & water but not without Internet even for a day, it's like getting trapped in a void, and getting disconnecting from the world.

There are so many USPs of it. Social education, social music, social videos, social news & social everything. Wanna talk to some friends? Just click! Wanna go shopping? Just click! Wanna entertain yourself? Just click! Nowadays, you can just click to do almost anything, it's easy, convenient & cool. And this conference made me realize that all the social networking addict students' days are almost same. Waking up, going to school, gossiping about social networks, coming back to home, before anything else turning on computer, checking notifications & messages & replying to them, eating lunch only when it's impossible to survive without it, skipping the dinner and then in bed networking once again on phone. Seeing their routine, it can be easily concluded that not only thousands or millions but even billions & trillions merely waste their days, months, years & sometimes ages on social networks.

The Dream Of Flying (Poem)

The poem  a read is a poem about a desire, a strong desire to be free. To get from of the invisible cages of the world, to get liberty of the ageless chains of the self, in which we're always trapped. To find that never ending glee, to see that simple smile on everyone's face. Yes, it's a dream hard to come true but that's something which makes it with dreaming. You're also invited to my divine place. So, at least for a moment, leave everything & come flying with me.
When the sun rises up high in the sky,
I wake up with a dream of flying there high.
Like a bird, who's set free to fly,
Without any bounds, no need to be shy.
With almost no worries or a single tear,
Where not even death is a reason to fear.
Doesn't matter what people think about you,
In a heaven of freedom, where tensions are few.
A world without any profit or loss,
A space where you are your own boss.
Where everyone's voice is heard,
And not everyone's supposed to be a nerd.
Where not everyone needs to be fake,
At least one chance is given to mend your mistake.
Somewhere out of these conservative jails,
Some place simple where only truth prevails.
Where you don't have to think a hundred times about your actions,
Where you future isn't decided by shapes, equations or fractions.
Living in a universe full of material possessions,
Waiting to overcome these meaningless obsessions.
Though, you still can't stop me from flying,
Even if you cut my wings and set me dying.
To break all bonds, often I try,
But then I remember,"even the birds are chained to the sky".
Bob Dylan once said "no one is free",
But how can the same phrase be everyone's destiny?
I hopefully am waiting for that bright day,
When even the birds will get free from the chains of the skyway.
I'm sure, in that dawn of freedom I'll awake,
And not only for me but for everyone's sake.
Until then, the sun will always continue to rise,
And this sweet dream will keep sparkling in my eyes...
